Plant Planning and Design

Sam will design a bespoke planting plan for you which will include a list of suggested plants, maintenance requirements and offer you an idea of final costings. All variables such as soil conditions, light levels, requested maintenance as well as desired outcome are taken into account.

Installation & Maintenance

Plants make a garden and gardens make people happy, though not everyone knows where to start or has the time to create or maintain the garden they have always dreamt of. Sam can bring your bespoke planting scheme to life for you by carrying out the full planting installation and then as an add on, you can decide as to how much or how little ongoing maintenance support you require.

I am deeply passionate about nature and all things green. An avid gardener and grower of both edibles and ornamental plants for many years now, i am also known as the Happy Place Gardener as my garden is my Happy Place.

Having helped many friends with planting plans and advice for their gardens over the years, in early 2025 I re-designed my own garden, devising a planting plan for various flower beds and this sparked a desire in me to turn my hobby into my profession.

So I said goodbye to 21 years in the recruitment sector and a big green 'hello' to the horticultural world, where I am able to help more people to bring their own happy places to life. It is proven that nature supports both our physical and mental health and having a garden filled with beautiful planting is a big part of this.

I offer a wide range of plant related services including initial and ongoing consultation, plant design and creation of plant plans, plant sourcing, installation of plants and raised beds into gardens, creating new or reinvigorating existing planting spaces as well as ongoing garden maintenance and upkeep for my own installations and mature gardens.

I believe that plants make a garden and gardens make people happy, though not everyone knows where to start or has the time to create their dream garden.
